Deputy Executive Director Bogdan Dimitrov presented the staffing needs of the nuclear industry at an international forum
Mr. Bogdan Dimitrov, Deputy Executive Director of „AEC Kozloduy – New Capacity“ EAD, participated in a specialized conference organized within the framework of the US State Department’s FIRST program. The event, which brought together representatives of state institutions, international experts and the academic community, focused on the strategic development of the workforce in Bulgaria.
Within the framework of the program, Mr. Dimitrov delivered a presentation dedicated to the critical need of the nuclear industry for highly skilled labor. He emphasized that the scale and technological complexity of the project to build new nuclear power plants in our country require timely and targeted planning of human resources.
During his speech, he outlined the profile of the specialists who will be needed for the future stages of the project – from engineers and safety experts to technical personnel with narrowly specialized skills. Emphasis was placed on the need for synergy between business, the educational system and the state to create sustainable training, retraining and retention programs for specialists in Bulgaria.
„The successful implementation of the new nuclear power plants is inextricably linked to the people who will build and operate them. That is why investment in human capital must move in parallel with technological and project development,“ noted Bogdan Dimitrov.
The participation of AES Kozloduy – New Capacity EAD in forums of this level confirms the company’s commitment not only to the country’s energy security, but also to building a long-term and sustainable professional environment that will ensure the future of Bulgarian nuclear energy.
