A team from Kozloduy NPP – New Capacities presented the vision of artificial intelligence in nuclear energy at the School of Nuclear Regulation
Bogdan Dimitrov, Deputy Executive Director, and Bilyana Simeonova, Director of the Safety Directorate, took part in the Nuclear Regulation School, organized for the third consecutive year by the Agency for Nuclear Regulation (ANR) with the assistance of the Nuclear Competence Center – Kozloduy. The forum brought together leading specialists, experts, and representatives of regulatory authorities to discuss the implementation of modern digital technologies, machine learning, and artificial intelligence in nuclear applications and nuclear regulation.
The presentation of the company focused on the strategic role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the development of the project to build the 7th and 8th blocks at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant site. In order for the new facilities to be competitive and efficient for decades to come, digital innovations must be incorporated into their design and planning stages.
Special attention was paid to security and the human factor. AI is a tool that inspires and supports decision-making, but verification and control remain solely in the hands of humans. The company will continue to prioritize training for its staff, as the secure use of new technologies and the protection of confidential information depend entirely on the expertise and digital culture of the specialists.
The management and team of AETZ Kozloduy – New Capacities EAD express their sincere gratitude to the Agency for Nuclear Regulation for the invitation, the excellent organization of the event and the opportunity provided to continue the good partnership in training personnel for the nuclear sector.
