The government is launching a second nuclear power plant.

The Bulgarian government is restarting the Belene NPP project. It must be built, otherwise we will have two very expensive reactors in Vezhdi Rashidov's Museum of Socialist Art.

This was stated by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov to Nova TV. He recalled the decision of the Arbitration Court in Geneva, according to which Bulgaria must pay the Russian side 557 million euros in damages plus 167 thousand euros in interest every day. The Prime Minister added that so far the "goal" in Belene has swallowed 708 million euros.

„"Here it is no longer a question of whether or not we want two reactors, but of paying for them. The hypothesis is not whether we need Belene, but what to do with the reactors that we will pay for. So far, almost 3 billion leva have been spent," Borissov said.
