The Executive Director of „CEZ Kozloduy – New Capacity“ EAD participated in the Korean-Bulgarian round table on energy
Energy security, affordability of prices and reliability of the electricity system are of absolutely strategic importance for Bulgaria and the region. Participants came to this key conclusion during discussions within the Korean-Bulgarian round table on energy, organized by the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD), the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bulgaria and the Korean Trade and Investment Promotion Agency.
The panel dedicated to the construction of the 7th and 8th units of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant brought together the key partners in the strategic project: „Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant – New Capacity“ EAD, Westinghouse, Hyundai E&C, KEXIM and Citibank. The common message of all of them was clear: detailed planning is the foundation that will ensure the project’s implementation without deviations from the schedule and the envisaged financial framework. The construction of nuclear power capacity of such scale requires unprecedented precision in design, engineering, and financing.
On behalf of the management of „AES Kozloduy – New Capacity“ EAD, a clear message was sent: a new project framework for the development of the project has been prepared, developed following a detailed SWOT analysis, which will be submitted for review and approval by the executive branch and the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Our primary goal is unequivocal – complete transparency, strict institutional coordination, and uncompromising protection of national interests in the development of the 7th and 8th blocks of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant project.
