Workshop on the subject of „The Future and Integration of Information Technology in Nuclear Energy“

The team of "Kozloduy NPP - New Build" EAD took part in a seminar on the topic "The Future and Integration of Information Technologies in Nuclear Energy". The event coincided with the celebration of 7 years since the establishment of the Company. The meeting took place between 10-12 May 2019 in the village of Debarshtitsa, Pazardzhik at the initiative of the youth association of the Bulgarian Nuclear Society, together with "Kozloduy NPP - New Build" EAD. The seminar was also attended by experts from "Kozloduy NPP" EAD, SE RAW and university lecturers. During the discussions, topics related to the development of the Center of Competence "Quantum Communication, Intelligent Security Systems and Risk Management" and the challenges facing the digital transformation of the nuclear sector were discussed.

Bilyana Simeonova - Environment expert at "Kozloduy NPP - New Build" EAD presented a report to the participants on the EIA procedure for a new nuclear power plant, introducing the audience to the EIA conducted on an investment proposal for the construction of a new nuclear power plant at the Kozloduy NPP site.

Emphasis was also placed on the reliability and zero carbon footprint of nuclear energy, as well as the importance and future of electromobility as environmentally friendly transport.

The event was closed by Mladen Mitev – Chairman of the Bulgarian Nuclear Society and Lyuben Marinov – Executive Director of "Kozloduy NPP – New Build" EAD, who summarized that for the successful development of nuclear energy in Bulgaria, it is necessary, first of all, to attract more young people who can find their professional fulfillment in this sector. The conclusion was that the continuation and deepening of communication between the organizations participating in the seminar is a positive step in this direction.
