Head of Information Modelling and Visualisation Department

“Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant – New Build PLC is a project-based company, owned by “Kozloduy NPP” EAD. Our mission is to implement and complete a project for the commissioning of two new nuclear power units to produce electricity and heat on the site of the existing nuclear power plant in Kozloduy.

“Kozloduy NPP – New Build” EAD manages the entire process of feasibility studies, design, construction, and commissioning of the latest generation (III or III+) AP1000 light water pressurised water reactor (PWR) technology.

As the project enters its active phase, we are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Head of the Department of Information Modelling and Visualisation“ to join our team in Sofia.

In this role, you will lead a key function responsible for the digital representation, coordination, and optimisation of engineering activities. You will play a central role in ensuring the accuracy, integration, and efficiency of 3D modelling processes across disciplines, directly contributing to the successful delivery of one of Bulgaria's most significant energy infrastructure projects.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the “Information Modelling and Visualisation” department, ensuring alignment with project objectives and engineering standards.
• Oversee the development, structuring, and maintenance of comprehensive 3D models, including equipment, pipework systems, civil structures, and plant infrastructure.
• Coordinate and supervise the 3D modelling team, including task planning, model and drawing verification, quality assurance, and competency development.
• Ensure effective integration with other engineering disciplines, maintaining system compatibility and managing technical interfaces.
• Lead clash detection processes, constraint analyses, and actively participate in coordination meetings and technical design reviews.
• Provide expert input on piping stress and hydraulic analysis, including modelling of loads, reactions, vibrations, thermal expansion, and support systems using specialised software tools.
• Provide support for engineering and investment projects by preparing technical specifications, approving models and documentation, and liaising with designers, supervision teams, and external contractors.
• Establish and maintain modelling standards, procedures, and best practices within the organisation.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Has

• Advanced expertise in 3D modelling and layout engineering, with strong command of CAD/CAE systems such as AVEVA E3D, PDMS, and Smart 3D.
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining complex 3D models for industrial projects, including equipment, pipework systems, and infrastructure.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing modelling teams, including task allocation, quality control, and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Strong competence in layout coordination and interface management, including clash detection, system integration, and participation in technical reviews.
• Expert-level knowledge in piping stress and hydraulic analysis, using tools such as CAESAR II, Rohr2, or AutoPipe.
• Experience in large-scale engineering or investment projects, to include the preparation of technical requirements and coordination with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present technical documentation and expert evaluations.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required by the project.
• Fluency in Bulgarian and English is required.
