Zheleznogorsk-Novomoskovsk Nuclear Power Plant presented the current status of the project for the 7th and 8th blocks at the Fifth International Nuclear Conference
The question about the future of nuclear energy is no longer whether it should be developed, but how to realize it in the most effective and financially justified way. Energy experts, business representatives and institutions came together around this key conclusion during the Fifth International Nuclear Conference organized by the Bulgarian Energy and Mining Forum.
During the forum, the participants firmly confirmed that the construction of new base power plants is critical for the sustainable energy transition. In this context, the project for the 7th and 8th blocks at the Kozloduy NPP site is of strategic importance for Bulgaria and the region. It was emphasized that its implementation will have a long-term positive effect not only on the energy sector, but also on the development of the entire industry, ensuring energy security and stability for both Bulgaria and the entire region.
Mr. Peter Bakjerzhiev, Deputy Director of the Engineering Directorate at Kozloduy NPP – New Capacity, participated in the conference program. He presented a detailed overview of the progress of the construction of the new nuclear power plants to leading international and local specialists.
In his presentation, Mr. Bakjerzhiev emphasized the current status of the project and traced the key milestones achieved so far. He also outlined the clearly structured upcoming steps in the technical, regulatory, and organizational plan that are necessary for the transition to the actual construction stages.
The participation of Kozloduy NPP in the forum reaffirms the project company’s commitment to open dialogue with the industry and the implementation of the best global practices in the management of engineering activities for this priority project for the country.
