“Kozloduy NPP – New Build” EAD is a project-based company, owned by “Kozloduy NPP” EAD. Our mission is to implement and complete a project for the commissioning of two new nuclear power units to produce electricity and heat on the site of the existing nuclear power plant in Kozloduy.
“Kozloduy NPP – New Build” EAD manages the entire process of feasibility studies, design, construction, and commissioning of the latest generation (III or III+) AP1000 light water pressurized water reactor (PWR) technology.
As part of the active phase of the project, we are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Head of Department “Nuclear Equipment and Engineering” to join our team at our Sofia office.

Main Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the activities of the “Nuclear Equipment and Engineering” department.
- Manage the full lifecycle of nuclear equipment, including planning, technical analyses, diagnostics, maintenance, and condition assessment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable nuclear engineering standards and regulatory frameworks (IAEA, BNRA, ASME), supporting successful regulatory reviews and approvals.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and control of technical documentation and submissions to regulatory authorities.
- Support project management processes, including planning, budgeting, progress tracking, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and strengthen the department’s engineering capabilities, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the team.
We Are Looking for Someone Who Has
- In-depth technical knowledge of nuclear energy systems, equipment, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements (IAEA, BNRA, ASME).
- Proven experience in equipment lifecycle management, including planning, technical analysis, diagnostics, maintenance, and condition assessment.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing engineering teams, coordinating complex activities, and developing technical competencies.
- Solid project management experience, including planning, budgeting, control, and collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical documentation and effectively interact with regulatory and supervisory authorities.
- Fluency in Bulgarian and English is required.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required by the project.
