Five companies have submitted applications in response to a call for expressions of interest for the construction of new nuclear power facilities by „Kozloduy NPP New Power Generation“.“

„AES Kozloduy New Power Plants EAD informs that 5 companies have expressed interest in the prequalification procedure announced by the company in connection with the construction of Units 7 and 8 at site № 2 of our nuclear power plant with AP-1000 technology. The procedure is in execution of the decision of the National Assembly of December 18, 2023. The deadline for applications expired on February 2, 2024, at 5:00 PM.

A commission will review the submitted documentation from the beginning of next week.

Candidate requirements include demonstrating experience in the construction and commissioning of at least two nuclear units, having worked within a nuclear or turbine island of at least two units, or having supplied and installed equipment for two units within the last 15 years. Candidates showing interest in the project must be able to prove a turnover and profit of at least 6 billion dollars for the five-year period from 2018 to 2022.
